PopCap shutdown-another EA casualty?

by Dylan on August 21, 2012

EA don’t have a great track record in holding on to people. The news that they are shutting down or significantly downsizing PopCap in Dublin and Shanghai has unfortunately reinforced that. Unfortunately, they seem to be a casualty of EA’s general problems which have led to the recent rumours of private equity interest in the company.

UPDATE: Apparently I’m wrong and this move didn’t have any input from EA management. Hmm.

Best wishes to all the PopCap folks and any companies with vacancies, please leave them in the comments below.

Very sad to hear about PopCap, I know a lot of the people there and they are all amazingly talented. We have open positions, take a look and hopefully we can help get some people sorted with jobs.

Sorry to hear this.  I guess some good news is that the Dublin tech scene seems to have no shortage of open positions going.  Our team at Amazon Dublin, Network Monitoring, is no exception — we are looking for both software engineers and ops people, and there’s many more teams here doing likewise.  Check out the rather extensive list of jobs at the Dublin office: http://preview.tinyurl.com/5rkg5vc .

Good luck to all going through this — I’ve been there and it’s no fun…
