Who are the active early-stage investors in Ireland and the UK?

Updated Nov 5th 2016

Here is a (periodically updated) list of VCs and angel groups who are active (i.e. have actually done deals recently) in the early-stage (<£2M/€2M) space. It’s not exhaustive so if I’ve omitted anyone, please let me know. Also, it doesn’t include government investment bodies such as Enterprise Ireland, InvestNI etc.

Note about definitions: some investors state that they are ‘early stage’ when in reality they will only invest in companies which are generating revenue (from 2015 onwards this is a much more common position). So although I’m using the definitions below, always ask around before committing time with investors:

Super-early = pre-revenue
Early = some revenue
Stage agnostic = both (although probably veering more towards Early)

Later updates have removed investors who are no longer investing at this early stage.
